Summary Doug Pritt began his career with the Army in 1970 as an entry-level enlisted member and retired 37 years later as a Brigadier General with a wide range of experience. Over his military career, General Pritt learned, grew and refined his theories to become a stand-out leader. Early on his military path, he constantly took initiative beyond his job description to be involved anywhere he could to make a difference. This approach caused superior officers to begin asking for his input on ways to improve methods and create higher standards for the Army. This pattern became one of General Pritt's hallmark traits. Through his time with the Army, General Pritt developed an innate ability to draw out creative solutions from peers and subordinates alike and then leverage this input to create truly comprehensive decisions. He combined much practical experience with formal leadership education including course work with the Disney Institute, an informal partnership with The Pacific Institute and work with FranklinCovey. General Pritt is an able coach and facilitator versed in a variety of innovation models. Military Career Doug Pritt enlisted in the Oregon Army National Guard February 1970 and received his initial training as a Gun Crewman at Fort Bliss, Texas. In September 1971, he graduated from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Engineer Branch. After returning to the United States, Pritt served in successively more responsible positions culminating with an appointment as Commander at the Battalion level. After completing U.S. Army War College in residence, then Lieutenant Colonel Pritt was assigned as a Brigade Executive Officer and then Deputy Commander. During this period, the now-promoted Colonel Pritt continued to advance serving as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, U.S. Property and Fiscal Officer and then Chief of Staff, Oregon Army National Guard.
